Absolutely love Winchell's. I go every chance I am in the area! It was part of my childhood. I would stop off at the end on my paper route and get a dozen donut holes and two cake donuts with rainbow sprinkles on white glaze. Now that I am older, it still pleases me to know that Winchell's exist somewhere.

Nice small little doughnut shop that's open 24 hours to get that doughnut fix! Got my fix and I'm try satisfied. Customer service is great! Didn't get a chance to take a picture of all the glorious doughnuts, but they have a wide selection, even bagels! Legit!
I oftentimes stopped here early in the am for some great donuts. I usually had to wait in line a short time to get my fresh glazed donuts because they always drew a crowd. I would see the same faces every day, all getting their donut fix for the day. I guess you could say they all have an addiction to Winchells donuts, just like me, and the withdrawal pains wouldn't be worth it. They are just too good to give up. I highly recommend this place.

These are the best doughnuts I've ever had. We came late in the afternoon on Sunday and they still had a full selection of perfect fresh doughnuts. A dozen doughnuts was $15.99. They also sell beverages, hot breakfast meals, salads and other items. Service was fast, employees are helpful, one woman has worked there since I was a kid, she's not the friendliest but gets the job done efficiently. They have tables for dine in. No bathrooms. The shop is located in a shopping area that is frankly a little ghetto but over the years I've never had a problem with anyone. Definitely lock your doors here. I will definitely be back next time I'm in town.
Visiting the area and stayed in Salinas for the night. When looking for food options saw there was Winchell's Donuts nearby. I grew up in SoCa and remember very good donuts from this chain. We were not disappointed, great selection and despite being 4:30 on a Saturday afternoon donuts were fresh. I was surprised to see Winchell's offers more food options now like salads. Took off one star due to all the tweekers hanging around the area. That being said, any business in Salinas would need one star removed, tweekers have really taken over Salinas.
